Hailey Learned to Ski At Snow School
A video of Hailey skiing after her first day at snow school.
Family Portraits
Hailey has drawn each member of the family. I like mine because I have more hair.

The Myth About Homework
A study shows that more minutes spent on homework nightly corresponds to lower performance on standardized tests. I’m sure my kids will use this against me someday.
Movie Night
We promised Hailey she could have movie night tonight with pop corn. After bath we put her on the couch, fluffed her pillow, started Monsters, Inc. and covered her with the blanket.
I went to make cereal for Katie and came back to find this.
Hailey was completely asleep with her hand in the pop corn.
Veterinary Medicine
I am sad to say that veterinary medicine leads the way in medicine delivery. Today we received a package that included a prescription medicine for Natasha. The medicine is a liquid that is delivered orally. The bottle came with a syringe that attaches directly to the lid of the medicine bottle. You plug the syringe into the lid, turn the bottle upside down and draw the dosage. No mess and no waste.
I wish Hailey’s liquid medicines came like this. We always have trouble getting the liquid into the syringe when dealing with her prescriptions.
Also, the medicine is bacon flavored. There was some very bad tasting cough medicines that I took last week. I would have gladly tried bacon flavored over those.
Alex’s Birthday Party
Spent the early part of the morning in north Austin at Texas Jumping Bean where Alex had his 3rd Birthday Party. All of Hailey’s old friends were there.
Flickr
I bought myself a flickr pro account this weekend. I have about 300 pictures uploaded so far. You can visit my photostream to see the pictures.
Thirty-Three
Thirty-Three is just around the corner (Sunday). Here is a list of loot that I wouldn’t mind plundering.
Catching Up
Instead of sleeping, I am sitting at the computer resizing photographs and typing entries into the database. Sometimes I don’t know if I should just keep the posts in the order that I enter them, or if I should edit the dates for the days that they actually occur. Tonight I choose to edit the dates. You will find out of order posts at River House, Cupcakes!, My Birthday, Hailey wearing her play outfit, Hailey on the 4th, and 5th of July, A trip to San Antonio, Hailey with her keyboard, and a Wedding in Laredo.
Busy, Busy, Busy
I have been a busy little bee lately. It is hard to believe that summer is almost half-way over. Hailey has been keeping me busy. I haven’t had time for anything else. Brianna has been working the long hours for the large bonus pay. She has made enough to buy a pretty laptop. If Motorola stock would stop tanking, I might buy myself one since she won’t let me use hers.
I have been given the responsibility of a diesel powered toy. It is short sided of them not to put PDFs of the Operator’s Manual on their website, but Elizabeth has been able to find one at a local dealer. I will perform the 500 hour scheduled maintenance this weekend, then it will be back to mowing. I’ve set on the seat of that thing long enough to be able to whip it around like a real pro. According to the manual, top speed is somewhere around 14 MPH but it feels much faster with diesel fumes in you face while your bouncing over ever uneven part of the yard.
Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot? Over.
I was bored so I read the flyer from Discover Card about the upcoming changes to the card-member agreement. This has really caught my attention …
Default-Acceleration-Collection-Costs We are adding a new provision to this section stating that you will be deemed to be in default if you fail to make a payment when due on any other account you have with us or with another creditor. [emphasis mine]
Did they just say they could claim my account was in default if I made my car payment late?
