Sound Effect Girl

As a kid, and even now as an adult, one thing I always find myself doing is adding sound effects to normal everyday events. Today I caught Hailey doing the same thing. A lot of Hailey’s stuffed animal toys make noises if you squeze their ears, toes, or hands. Elmo is a stuffed animal toy, but he makes no sounds or noises. This Elmo is just an everyday doll. Hailey would squeze his ear, push on his hand, and poke his belly waiting for him to do something. With each motion she would make a little sound, “whosh.”

Snow Cone

Today Hailey returned from a long weekend away, on Thursday and Friday she stayed at Gamma and Beta’s house. On Saturday she stayed at Aunt Shannon’s house and had fun playing with Autumn and Zachary. Today when she came back from all the excitement we took here to a snow cone stand near Zilker Park for her first snow cone. Hailey and I shared a pink bubblegum.

We took Hailey to the Botanical Gardens to see the koi and eat her snow cone. When we finally made it to the ponds she pointed at the koi and said “fish”. Fish, fish, fish. Hailey started walking towards the pond and had to be caught by her mother. I think Hailey planned on playing with the fish. I don’t think fish like to play like that but I could be wrong.

Spam, Spam, Spam

I moved all my e-mail accounts to Fredd’s server and set up SpamAssassin to capture spam. So far, I have received very little spam despite using these accounts for all of my mail correspondence. Meanwhile, the account that I never use any more over at Time Warner is getting one hundred plus spam messages a day. SpamAssassin is doing a good job of filtering out that crap but I still have abandoned usage of the Road Runner mail account. I only have the account set up so I can find any service related mails from Time Warner that I may need..

Today is __Dusty Jones Day__, I am the ripe old age of 32 and can begin my journey through the Rolling Rock™ year.

Fredd’s wonderful employer, offered him an amazing deal on a server. I talked Fredd into getting a Linux server and have taken on the admin responsibilities. My limited availability, time-wise, has meant that set-up has taken a lot longer than it should have. But finally I have configured Exim and Apache to my liking, and have moved all my domains over to their new permanent home.

Busy, Busy, Busy

I have been a busy little bee lately. It is hard to believe that summer is almost half-way over. Hailey has been keeping me busy. I haven’t had time for anything else. Brianna has been working the long hours for the large bonus pay. She has made enough to buy a pretty laptop. If Motorola stock would stop tanking, I might buy myself one since she won’t let me use hers.

I have been given the responsibility of a diesel powered toy. It is short sided of them not to put PDFs of the Operator’s Manual on their website, but Elizabeth has been able to find one at a local dealer. I will perform the 500 hour scheduled maintenance this weekend, then it will be back to mowing. I’ve set on the seat of that thing long enough to be able to whip it around like a real pro. According to the manual, top speed is somewhere around 14 MPH but it feels much faster with diesel fumes in you face while your bouncing over ever uneven part of the yard.
